With a career that spans over 20 years, Emmanuel Vourakis has performed in many bands in Greece and the U.S., gaining widespread popularity as a member of Blues Wire, one of the most established blues bands in Europe and with whom he toured regularly from 2007-10. Winner of the only “B.B. King Blues Guitar Competition” ever to be held in Greece and organised by the record label BMG in March 1998, he was also awarded the title 'Blues Guitarist of the Year' from Berklee College of Music for the year 2003-4. Since 2009 he has been fronting The Zilla Project as vocalist and guitarist, with whom he has also released a 2014 album titled “This One’s For the President”. As a recording and session artist he has been involved with a slew of recordings, TV appearances and concerts in Greece, Cyprus and the U.S., with local and international artists spanning various styles of music.
